Amazing Firebird

Stoneware clay, oxide, feathers and gold leaf
Winner of the V&A Inspired by competition, Firebird was inspired by Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes exhibition and was exhibited at the museum in the summer of 2011. She is embellished with pearls and Swarovski crystals and is a depiction of Tamara Karsavina who replaced Pavlova in the role of Czarevna in the ballet.
